We do not sell computers, peripherals or computer software to
clients. However, because of our broad experience of different computer applications,
especially accounting applications, we are able to advise on the most
appropriate hardware and software for the needs of a particular client. While we do not
sell software to clients, we do sell software applications for special
purposes to other firms of accountants, so we do have a particular expertise
in this area. We are often able
to acquire both hardware and software on more favourable terms than clients
themselves may be able to, and if this is the case then we would share the
savings with our clients. For example, we can often acquire proprietary
software packages at substantial discounts. We are also
members of the Sage Accountants Club, which means that we are able to supply
Sage products at doiscounted prices. We feel that it
can be very unwise for a client to purchase software for applications that
have any accounting element without first discussing the matter in detail
with us. This is because many accountancy applications have significance for
paperwork systems and workflow systems beyond the actual computer application
itself. It is also the case that many of the accountancy software packages on
the market have disadvantages that are not highlighted in the marketing and
advertising. Some of these
disadvantages are more significant for some users than others. In many cases
it is also a good idea to purchase applications that can be made to be
compatible with our own computer systems, because this means we will be able
to read data from your systems, and hopefully reduce your accountancy costs. |
