HMRC have recently sent out a number of demands for tax going back several years.

Many firms of accountants have known for a long time that HMRC had a problem with PAYE coding notices and have ensured that their clients have paid the right amount of tax. Over 40% of tax codes of clients of this firm have been wrong in recent years!!!

For those who do not have an accountant, a large demand can be quite frightening. Despite what HMRC may say, many people DO NOT have to pay such demands.

Also, if you have been notified of a refund, there is no certainty that your refund has been correctly calculated. You might also want your tax position to be reviewed for your own peace of mind, even if you have not heard from HMRC.

If you have concerns of this kind we will discuss it with you on the telephone  or exchange emails, free of charge, for up to five minutes of our time. At the end of the discussion you will know whether it is something you can deal with yourself , or whether we can help you for a fee. If a fee is necessary, it will not exceed £50 plus VAT.

I have received a demand from HMRC and I want advice about how to respond, without any commitment on my part.
