These electronic working paper files are available to other
firms of accountants, to document the accounts production process and
automate your accounts production. The price structure varies depending on
what combination of working paper files you require. Details can be supplied
upon request. They consist of electronic working paper files for audits, reporting accountants, sole
traders and charities and cover both regulated and unregulated work. The files are complex spreadsheets structured in exactly the
same way as a conventional working paper file. For example, work sheet ‘J’ is
current assets. This has an accounts working programme for current assets, or
in the case of audits an audit programme. On work sheet ‘J’ would be entered
all the usual information that would be entered into handwritten schedules –
eg calculations of prepayments etc. This automatically produces a lead
schedule for current assets, which is then automatically transferred to the VT Trial Balance which is
embedded in the spreadsheet. There is no necessity to enter any data into the VT trial
balance. By the simple entry of figures into schedules and working
through checklists the full set of accounts can be prepared using VT and a
fully compliant working paper file can be prepared without the need for a
paper file. What is more, the working paper file is neat and structured and
legible, because the data is computer entered. Any supporting evidence or
documentation can be scanned into the electronic working paper file, so that
there is really no need for a paper file. Because all the data is in the spreadsheet, an automatic by
product is an automated analytical review, and an automated draft tax
computation. |
